 Year End Update 2010

CASA DAY CARE WEEKS

The Casa Day Care will be held at the Rougemount, Village, Whitby and Oshawa Campuses the week of June 28th to July 2nd (closed July 1st).  Day Care will also be available the week of August 30th to September 3rd, if enough interest is shown.

SUMMER CAMP

Summer Camp begins Monday, July 5th.  There is still space available in our Summer Camps.  All children who are attending

Summer Camp will receive their Calendar of Events, Volunteer Forms for Elementary trips, etc. on the first day of Camp.  We kindly request each child bring a piece of fruit each day for refreshment.   The Toddler Programs will also be operating at the Milner, Rougemount Annex, Pickering, Village, Westney, Whitby  and Oshawa Campuses during the Summer.  See you there!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Blaisdale Montessori School is very pleased to announce the opening of a new Campus in Bowmanville.  It is located on Rhonda Blvd. (Waverly Rd. and Hwy. 57) and is a beautiful 25,000 sq. ft. facility located on 3 acres of land.  We will be opening this fall with

Pre-Toddler to Grade 8 programs.

Blaisdale Montessori School has once again been voted as the best Montessori School in the Durham Region by Reader’s Choice.

The Upper Elementary students have received poetry awards from Young Writers Poetry Institute of Canada and Polar Expression

Publishing.

This year our Elementary Jump Rope for Heart program raised over $11,000 for The Heart and Stroke Foundation.  All Campuses

participated in Dress Down Day for Haiti and raised over $3,000.  Great job everyone!  The Terry Fox Run will be held on Thursday, September 30th, 2010.  Further information will be sent in September.

Graduation Day was held at the Westney Campus on Thursday, June 24th, for the students who graduated from our Renaissance Level  8 Program.  This was a special occasion with speeches, presentations and a dance party.  Well done grads!  The Renaissance students went to Camp Kawartha and Chicago this year and our Upper Elementary students attended the Claremont Conservation Centre.

Our Elementary Track and Fun Day and our Casa Play Days were once again a success.

Our fundraising money went towards additional items for the classroom, predominately chosen by the Teachers, new filtered water

systems at Campuses with older units and books for the new Resource Libraries.  We would like to thank the parents for their book

donations and would very much appreciate any additional donations for the Libraries.

Due in part to diminished interest, the Lunch Program will no longer be offered.

presently enrolled in the School will not be receiving an August letter.  They will receive their calendar and pertinent information on the first day back at School.  It is important that Application Forms (for Head Office) and Emergency Cards (for Campuses) have

current information.  We will again be asking parents to confirm data on file and to complete a new Emergency Card.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.  Please note consent was given for walks, nuclear evacuation, potassium pills and photographs when the Statement of Account was signed.

Casa Children who are NEW to Blaisdale or graduating Toddlers will be assigned a start date (Toddlers usually start Wednesday), and will be mailed an introductory letter in August.  New children will have the opportunity to meet their Teacher at 4:15 p.m. the day

before their start date.  Children graduating to the Elementary Program will also receive an introductory letter and will start Tuesday,

September 7th.  If this is your child’s first day in the Elementary Class at the Pickering or Westney Campuses, please check the lists that are posted on the classroom doors.  Your child’s name will be listed on the appropriate door.
